Name: Millions Knives (formerly 'Nai')
Canon: Trigun Stampede
Canon Point: End of Episode 7
Age: 150+

Backstory: https://trigun.fandom.com/wiki/Trigun_Stampede#Episodes - The summary pages for Episode 8, 9 and 11 contain the bulk of his backstory.

Personality: Millions Knives -- jokingly referred to even in canon as Vash's 'evil twin' -- stands in direct opposition to his brother, defined by his hatred of humanity. Once called Nai, he self-styled himself under his new moniker because he sees himself as the avenging weapon of the countless Plants under human subjugation. Having seen his kind be tortured, abused, and overworked to death in the name of science or using them as generators to power human existence, he despises humans, and sees them as irredeemable knowing their long history of war, violence, and destruction of the natural world. As he grew to see them as little more than destructive parasites, he sought to destroy the space fleet of settlers looking to colonise a new planet after Earth was rendered unliveable by human activity, and is the cause for humanity being stranded in No Man's Land.

His goal since the Big Fall has been to gather his 'sisters' -- the Plants scattered around the land which the surviving humans depend on to eke out a meagre existence -- and slaughter anyone who stands in his way. He aims to recreate the world into a paradise for Plants and wipe out humanity. To that end a doomsday cult of Plant worshippers has sprung up to follow him called the Eye of Michael, who similarly have no qualms about destroying any fellow humans who oppose 'Lord Knives', and who use torture and experimentation to advance their goals of shaping the future for both humans and plants alike.

Knives' demeanour appears cold, rational and calculating, but he takes a sadistic pleasure in destroying humanity. And while he appears on the surface to see himself as motivated by righteous anger, what in truth motivates him is fear: fear of becoming like his older sister, Tesla, who as the first known Independent Plant, was cruelly experimented on and dissected. Learning of her existence left him with deep emotional scars that drove him to turn against humanity to protect himself and Vash.

Still, one of his fatal flaws is his inability to admit that he's driven by fear, masking it with arrogance and claiming he's a perfect being. He refuses to learn from his mistakes, blaming the world around him for his suffering instead his own role in self-inflicting it and driving Vash away. He's a hypocrite, decrying the suffering of Plants while using them and his own brother for his ends, while permitting the experimentation of human children in a similiar way to how Tesla had been treated. Because he sees himself as flawless, he inevitably has become selfish, putting his needs and desires above even the brother he claims to care for so deeply. He holds himself to a warped moral standard, and will fly off the handle to an almost childish degree if he faces rejection or doesn't get his own way.

His fear of humans also extends to fear on behalf of his brother; he still loves Vash a great deal and doesn't want him to be exploited by humans, but his way of expressing his love is twisted and cruel. He orchestrates it so that humans will blame Vash for Knives' own crimes and he will be hunted by them to every corner of the planet, he's jealous of anyone he sees as fighting him for Vash's attention and affection, and he's disgusted by the way his brother grovels at their feet in a desperate desire to avoid conflict and to be loved. He manipulates and gaslights him with all the classic tactics of an abuser, claiming Vash is his accomplice because he gave Knives the access code to the ship that let him orchestrate the Big Fall, and he almost kills Vash's second mother figure Luida until Vash stops him. His protectiveness is born from a desire to 'save' Vash from himself and his delusions that he will ever be accepted by humanity, and to try to persuade him at any cost that Knives' vision of a world where the two of them can be safe is the correct path to take.

Knives has rejected humanity to the point he doesn't wear manmade clothes, instead wearing robes with a bud-like hood that makes him resemble his Plant sisters more. He frames himself in Biblical terms, seeing himself as vengeful Old Testament god who punishes the sinful, and that his vision for the future will bring about the final confrontation between humanity and Plants, his own personally orchestrated 'Har Meggido'. The only real tie to his past being raised by a human woman is the piano; he still plays the piece that he and Vash composed as children before the Fall, showing that however twisted his feelings have become, he still longs for happier times, and will do whatever it takes to create a paradise like it.

Powers/Abilities:
BLADE CREATION: As his moniker suggests, Millions Knives' trademark ability is to create countless blades, either extended from his back as tendril like appendages in a chain, controlling them as individual floating blades, or having them retract from his hands and feet like claws. These blades also form the robes he wears in place of clothes, and can be used for defensive purposes like deflecting bullets. For the purposes of nerfing to fit a game setting, I'll nerf the floating blades out altogether, and he won't have the massive destructive power to destroy entire towns that he demonstrates in canon at Jeneora Rock.

PLANT PHYSIOLOGY: He's more Plant-like than Vash and less human, not needing to eat or sleep. He also doesn't need to breathe, and has either a huge pain threshold or is largely impervious to pain altogether. When using his Plant abilities, white markings appear on his skin and his eyes. As all Plants are interconntected, he absorbed the body of his sister Tesla, and while it doesn't grant him any additional abilities or (seemingly) her consciousness, he is able to manifest her eyes on his claws, which seem to move and blink of their own accord. Creepy!

INCREASED STRENGTH AND AGILITY: Knives is faster and stronger than an average human, and has a far superior reflex time, though he tends to let his blades do the heavy lifting for him.

Game Plans: Knives will hate the monster transformation aspect of the game, as while as a Plant he's able to change and shift his form in various ways in canon such as growing claws and wings, it will terrify him that he's being changed against his will for ends he doesn't understand. He'll want to get to the bottom of the mystery, and also restore his and Vash's status as purely Plants and not monsters. Generally he'll see himself in opposition to humanity, but as in canon, will cooperate with them where he thinks it advances his goals -- in this case, continuing to travel with the Convoy to learn the truth.

Monster Choice:
CELESTIAL - ANGEL: Knives styles himself as a god or as a kind of avenging angel who punishes sinners -- though he's more akin to a Lucifer-esque fallen angel in reality, having caused his own fall from paradise in his pursuit to destroy humanity. Abilities like Commanding Voice fit his status as a cult leader with a devoted following.

DRAKONIS - CHIMERA: Transforming into a twin-headed beast would both symbolise his obsession with Vash, and the fact he has absorbed Tesla's mutilated remains into his own body.

FAE - FAIRY: As a Plant, being able to have plant speech abilities and anger at nature being despoiled would be a natural fit. Some of the traits can help nerf him further and rein in his aggro, like a weakness to iron or forcing him to adhere to various codes of conduct.

Vehicle Choice: White convertible car, fast.
Sample: TDM toplevel
